Die Wirkung von �striol, dem dritten �strogen, wurde auf seine Wirkung auf das Pentylentetrazol (PTZ)-Kindling-Modell der Epileptogenese bei M�usen untersucht, gefolgt von einer Bewertung der durch Kindling verursachten Ver�nderungen der kognitiven und motorischen Funktionen. Das Anz�nden wurde durch einmal alle 2 Tage erfolgende Behandlung mit PTZ (25 mg/kg, i.p.) �ber 5 Wochen induziert. Die Anfallsschwere w�hrend der Einleitung des Anz�ndens und die prozentuale Inzidenz der Tiere, die am Ende der 5 Wochen angez�ndet wurden, wurden aufgezeichnet. Die motorische Funktion wurde mit einem Griffst�rkemessger�t beurteilt, w�hrend das r�umliche Ged�chtnis in einem Kreuzlabyrinth beurteilt wurde. �striol (0,005 und 0,01 mg/kg i.p.) verk�rzte bei m�nnlichen und weiblichen M�usen die Zeit bis zur Einleitung der Anz�ndung von 5 Wochen auf 3 bzw. 2 Wochen und erh�hte die prozentuale Inzidenz von Anf�llen. Clomifen (0,9 mg/kg i.p.) verz�gerte die Entwicklung von Entz�ndungen und erzeugte eine krampfl�sende Wirkung. Es kehrte auch teilweise die prokonvulsive Wirkung von �striol um. Beim Griffst�rketest und beim spontanen Wechselverhalten wurde bei entz�ndeten M�usen ein deutlicher R�ckgang beobachtet, der durch eine Vorbehandlung mit �striol noch weiter reduziert wurde.
