Diese Studie untersuchte das Bewusstsein für Cyberkriminalität und die Einstellung zu Computern bei 400 B.Ed.-Studenten von Universitäten im Punjab unter Berücksichtigung von Geschlecht, Wohnort und Studienrichtung. Die wichtigsten Ergebnisse zeigten, dass weibliche, städtische und naturwissenschaftliche Lehramtsanwärter ein höheres Bewusstsein für Cyberkriminalität aufwiesen, während städtische und naturwissenschaftliche Lehrer eine bessere Einstellung zum Computer hatten. Es wurden keine signifikanten geschlechtsspezifischen Unterschiede bei der Einstellung zum Computer festgestellt. Die Studie ergab signifikante Wechselwirkungen zwischen den Faktoren sowohl für das Bewusstsein als auch für die Einstellung und eine positive Korrelation zwischen dem Bewusstsein für Internetkriminalität und der Einstellung zum Computer. Zu den Implikationen gehören die Aufklärung zukünftiger Lehrer über die Risiken und die Prävention von Internetkriminalität, die Konzentration auf Schüler in ländlichen Gebieten und in den Geisteswissenschaften zur Verbesserung des Bewusstseins und die Betonung von sicheren Internetpraktiken in der Lehrerausbildung. Die Forschungsergebnisse legen nahe, dass politische Entscheidungsträger Bedingungen schaffen sollten, um das Bewusstsein für Cyberkriminalität zu erhöhen, insbesondere bei angehenden Sozialkundelehrern, um sie besser darauf vorzubereiten, Schüler über Online-Sicherheit zu unterrichten.
