"Natacha Rambova; the name carries with it visions of onion-domed citadels and faraway places," wrote her biographer, Michael Morris.Yet Rambova's life was far more complex than the years she spent married to Rudolph Valentino. Independent, intellectually curious, and deeply committed to scholarship, she went on to lecture on symbolism, comparative religion, and Near Eastern art before dedicating the final decades of her life to Egyptology.Completed posthumously by Evelyn Zumaya, Beyond Valentino preserves Michael Morris's final tribute to Rambova. Drawing upon material from his personal archive, the volume includes unpublished writings by Rambova, selections from The Cosmic Circuit, her essay "Arriba Espaa," and commentary from leading scholars.Richly illustrated throughout, Beyond Valentino offers a revealing portrait of one of the most intriguing and misunderstood women of the twentieth century.

Floris, Evelyn Zumaya: - Evelyn Zumaya Floris is an author, historian and independent scholar whose work focuses on the cultural legacy of silent film icon Rudolph Valentino. For more than two decades, she has researched Valentino's life, the legal and financial controversies surrounding his estate and the suppressed archival materials which shape his historical narrative. Her previous books include, Affairs Valentino, Affairs Valentino Legacy Edition, The Affairs Valentino Companion Guide, Astral Affairs Rambova and Norma: The Life and Death of Rudolph Valentino's Beauty Queen.

In 1991, Abbeville Press published his acclaimed biography, Madam Valentino: The Many Lives of Natacha Rambova, a landmark study of the artist, designer, and wife of Rudolph Valentino. Beginning in 1998, his widely read articles on religious art and iconography appeared regularly in Magnificat. Fr. Morris taught at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley and served as Director of the Santa Fe Institute until his death on July 15, 2016.
