Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Englisch - Pädagogik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: sehr gut (1,0), Technische Universität Dortmund (Institut für Anglistik und Amerikanistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In den letzten Jahren und Jahrzehnten ist die Forderung nach mehr und besseren Fremdsprachenqualifikationen für deutsche Berufsschüler immer lauter und immer dringender geworden, vor allem unter dem Schlagwort der Globalisierung. Hinter diesem vielzitierten Begriff verbergen sich so unterschiedliche Entwicklungen wie die Verschärfung des weltweiten Wettbewerbs um Kapitalzuflüsse und die harte Konkurrenz von weit auseinanderliegenden Standorten um Arbeitsplätze, aber auch der voranschreitende Abbau von Zoll- und Handelschranken innerhalb und au erhalb Europas und die gestiegenen Chancen für persönliche berufliche Mobilität. Sowohl für die volkswirtschaftliche als auch für die persönliche Wettbewerbsfähigkeit auf dem globalen Markt sind fremdsprachliche Kompetenzen entscheidend. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird untersucht, wie das an deutschen Schulen des allgemeinbildenden Schulwesens verbreitete Konzept des bilingualen Sachfachunterrichts auf kaufmännische Berufsschulen übertragen werden kann, um während der Berufsausbildung fremdsprachliche Kompetenzen zu fördern. Als zukünftiger Lehrer sowohl der Fremdsprache Englisch als auch der Fachrichtung Wirtschaft an dieser Schulform interessiert mich insbesondere die mögliche Verknüpfung meiner Fakulten im Sinne eines Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), einer noch recht jungen Bezeichnung für die Verwendung von Fremdsprachen in Sachfächern. Die Leitfragen, die sich hier stellen, sind verschiedener Natur. So muss geklärt werden, ob das Konzept überhaupt anwendbar ist und in welcher Ausprägung, in welchem Umfang, mit welchen fachlichen Inhalten und mit Hilfe welcher Materialien es umgesetzt werden kann. Neben der systematischen Analyse im Rahmen der einzelnen Kapitel habe ich diese Arbeit
