Hat sich nicht jeder diese Frage schon einmal gestellt? Diese Frage wird unterschiedlichste Antworten hervorbringen, denn jeder hat seine eigene Biografie mit markanten Daten und einer individuellen Lebensgeschichte. Mit Hilfe autobiografischer Aufzeichnungen, Fotos oder auch einem Lebenslauf kann diese dokumentiert und festgehalten werden. Basierend auf dem Milieu, in welchem der Mensch aufgewachsen und erzogen worden ist, und seiner gesammelten Erfahrungen wird die Individualität jedes Menschen hervorgebracht. Dies gilt es auch für mich als Erzieherin in doppelter Hinsicht zu beachten. Zum einen muss ich bei meiner Arbeit mit den Kindern ihre Individualität akzeptieren, nutzen und fördern, und zum anderen ist auch meine Arbeit durch meine eigene Lebensgeschichte geprägt. Biografie verbindet individuelle und gesellschaftliche Perspektiven. Die Signifikanz dieser Thematik wird im Hinblick auf die aktiven gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen, wie Pluralisierungstendenzen und Traditionsverlusten, immer deutlicher und erfordert ständige Neuorientierungen auch im Bereich der Erziehungswissenschaften. Die Wissenschaft arbeitet hier mit der Biographieforschung, um Biografien zu rekonstruieren und sie unter anderem auf Lern- und Bildungsprozesse zu untersuchen. In dieser Arbeit wird untersucht, was Biografiearbeit und Biographieforschung ist. Des Weiteren soll ein Einblick in die Historie der Biografieforschung gegeben und Methoden erziehungswissenschaftlicher Biografieforschung angesprochen werden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, einen Einblick in die Biografieforschung und die Biografiearbeit zu gewinnen, um den Zusammenhang zwischen Biografieforschung und lebenslangem Lernen zu diskutieren.
