Bioremediation as a Greener Solution for Marine Plastic Pollutants provides a comprehensive understanding of marine microplastic pollution while also exploring bioremediation as a sustainable solution. The book covers essential knowledge about marine microplastics, examines various bioremediation techniques, and highlights successful case studies. Authored by various experts from around the world, this book discusses the benefits, challenges, and future prospects of integrating bioremediation into sustainable practices. It emphasizes the collaborative efforts required for widespread adoption, including policy development, public awareness, and continuous research.

Designed to be accessible to researchers and students interested in addressing the increasing threat of marine microplastic pollution, this guide is a valuable resource for those committed to environmental sustainability.

Das, Alok Prasad: - Dr. Alok Prasad Das received his PhDs in Biotechnology from Siksha O Anusandhan University, India, carried out most of his PhD work at CSIR-IMMT and received his M. Tech degree from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. Dr. Das's research focuses on Development of Bioleaching technologies for metal recovery and waste management. He has been associated with the development of a methodology whereby microbes could improve the biorecovery process of metals. In addition to this, he is also investigating advanced mineral processing technology with special emphasis on microbial resource recycling techniques, which are required for sustainable development and to accomplish present demand. This technology can be applied to other fields such as resource utilization, waste minimization and environmental remediation. His research interests also focus upon microbial biogeochemical cycling of manganese which has resulted in a number of key papers in the area (see S. Ghosh and A.P. Das 2018, Nature Scientific Report; Mohanty et al., 2018, Rev in Env Sc & Biotech, Das et al., 2011, Biores Tech- 85 citations). His current Google Scholar: Citations is 600 and h-index 13. Dr. Alok has more than 10 years of research experience on bioleaching, bioremediation, mineral recovery techniques with expertise on microbial culture isolation and screening studies, strain development and optimization studies for efficient mineral recovery.

Dey, Sudeshna: - Ms. Sudeshna Dey is a Research Fellow in the Department of Science and Technology-funded Govt. of Odisha project, Investigation of Microbial Remediation Technology for Synthetic Microfiber Pollutants. She has 4 years of research experience and published several Books and journal Articles, in several journals. Currently, her major work involves Environmental Biotechnology, Environmental Microplastic and Microfiber Pollution, degradation and management, and Sustainability and circular economy.
