About The Book

Ana Briongos first travelled to Iran in the 1960s. She returned in the early 1970s to study Persian at the University of Tehran and has continued to return to this country of contradictions ever since. But Black on Black is not so much her own story as that of her friends and acquaintances. Ultimately, all her tales are bout coming to terms with the consequences of the Islamic revolution of 1979.

About The Author

Briongos, Ana M.: - Ana M. Briongos was born in 1946 in Barcelona Spain, where she currently lives with her husband. Ever since she first travelled to the Middle East and Asia as a student, she has been fascinated by travel. She has worked and travelled extensively through both Iran and Afghanistan. Her short travel story "A Winter in Kandahar" was awarded the first prize in travel books, at the Latino book awards in New York City in 2009.
