Die Herausgeberin Ute Fischer ist zugleich Beraterin des Borreliose-Ticketsystems, der Borreliose-Hotline, Redakteurin jener Zeitschriften sowie Pressesprecherin der Patientenorganisation und sitzt damit an den Quellen für Diagnostik, Therapie, Forschung, Gesundheitspolitik und Patientenberatung. Das Borreliose-Jahrbuch hat Biss und arbeitet schonungslos gegen Verharmlosung und gegen das Verschweigen. Aus dem Inhalt: Herzstück sind fünf lange Beiträge über Fibromyalgie, über die Insulin-Potenzierte Therapie bei chronischer Borreliose, über die Rex-Therapie als eine neue Sicht auf Ursache und Heilung, über eine homöopathische Betrachtungsweise von Borreliose und anderen kollektiven epidemischen Erkrankungen sowie über Elektrosmog als Katalysator einer Borreliose. Des Weiteren geht es um neue Testmethoden, um neue Forschung aber auch um die Schattenseiten der ärztlichen Versorgung und um die Gleichgültigkeit mancher Gesundheitspolitiker. Zwei aufwühlende Patientengeschichten - Rita Bre ler und Sahra Khodja - zeigen, wie Borreliosepatienten zum Spielball von Ärzten werden können. Ein Beitrag führt den SWR-Intendanten in Doppelzüngigkeit nach dem Motto - Papier ist geduldig - vor. Ute Fischer widmete sich in jungen Jahren dem Reisejournalismus und bereiste vor allem europäische Länder mit dem Fahrrad. So entstanden Zusammen mit ihrem Partner Bernhard Siegmund unzählige Reportagen und Reiseführer über Deutschland, die Schweiz und die Niederlande. Mehrfach schrieb sie den HB-Bildatlas Niederlande, später bei Dumont erschienen, und aktualisierte den Baedeker Niederlande. Seit dem Jahr 2000 konzentrierte sie sich als Wissenschaftsjournalistin auf Gesundheits-Themen wie Flugangst sowie aus eigener Betroffenheit der Zeckeninfektion Borreliose. Jedes Jahr erscheint ein neues Borreliose-Jahrbuch und weitere Ratgeber zum Leben mit Borreliose. Sie war etliche Jahre Geschäftsführerin und Vorsitzende der Patientenorganisation Borreliose und FSME Bund Deutschland e.V., ist heute noch deren Pressesprecherin und Chefredakteurin der Zeitschrift Borreliose Wissen aktuell. Auch das Thema Facelift zog sie aus eigener Betroffenheit in ihren Bann.
