Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Michael Serrian attended Brooklyn College where he majored in English and Film and wrote and directed several short films. Over the next ten years, he worked in the publishing industry as a proofreader, copywriter, and graphic designer. In 1987, his first two novels Captured and Night Runners were published. The suspense thrillers, Mirage and Fatal Exit, soon followed, published by Bantam Books. In 1995, Macmillan published his first nonfiction hardcover book, Now Hiring: Film, for young adults, focusing on careers in the film industry. In 2010, his novel, An Empty Sky, was published. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 1987, Michael Serrian has worked at Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures, Turner Pictures, and DreamWorks, SKG as an Assistant Director in feature animation. In 1999, he wrote and produced the live action feature, Cruising Purgatory. In 2002, he wrote, produced, and co-directed This Way Out of Brooklyn. Currently, Michael Serrrian is working as a web and graphic designer and writing his next novel.
