After surviving abuse in her childhood home in India, Sarah flees to the promised safety of an arranged marriage in Canada. But when she arrives, she discovers that her new husband is as dangerous as the trauma she left behind. Isolated from her family, culture, and support systems, Sarah has to find within herself the courage to leave-not once, but twice, as she fights her natural inclination to forgive and make things work. By believing in herself and having hope for the future, Sarah makes a beautiful life: one of motherhood, resilience, and joy.

Broken Silence is a powerful, honest memoir that gives voice to experiences that are often silenced. It raises awareness about the long-term impacts of abuse, migration, and isolation, while also being a story of triumph, joy, and the power of breaking silence to reclaim one's future. It shows readers that survival is possible-and that strength can exist even when we feel powerless.

Grigg, Sarah: - Sarah Grigg has worked as an early childhood educator for over a decade, supporting children and families from diverse backgrounds. She is completing a double major in psychology and women and gender studies at the University of Toronto, which has informed her understanding of trauma, resilience, and gender-based systems. In her free time, Sarah loves hanging out with her kids, going for long walks with her husband, and soothing her soul by watching the waves crashing into the ocean. She lives in the Toronto area with her husband, three kids, a dog, and two guinea pigs.
