About The Book

Das Lehrbuch führt in die grundlegenden Prinzipien und Arbeitsmethoden der Bruchmechanik und Mikromechanik ein. Im Vordergrund steht die mechanische Beschreibung von Bruchvorgängen, wobei auch materialspezifische Aspekte diskutiert werden. Auf die Behandlung von kontinuumsmechanischen und phänomenologischen Grundlagen folgt ein Einblick in die klassischen Bruch- und Versagenshypothesen sowie in makro- und mikroskopische Phänomene des Bruchs. Ein umfangreicher Teil ist der linearen und elastisch-plastischen Bruchmechanik gewidmet. Weitere Themen sind die Kriechbruchmechanik, Bruchdynamik, Schädigungsmechanik sowie die probabilistische Bruchmechanik. Eine Einführung in die Mikromechanik und die Homogenisierung elastischer, elastisch-plastischer und thermoelastischer Materialien ergänzt das Werk.

Die 6. Auflage enthält zahlreiche Erweiterungen, unter anderem auch zu Aspekten der numerischen Behandlung bruchmechanischer Probleme.

About The Author

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Gross studierte Angewandte Mechanik und promovierte an der Universität Rostock. Er habilitierte an der Universität Stuttgart und ist seit 1976 Professor für Mechanik an der TU Darmstadt. Seine Arbeitsgebiete sind die Festkörper- und Strukturmechanik sowie die Bruchmechanik. Hierbei ist er auch mit der Modellierung mikromechanischer Prozesse befasst. Er ist Mitherausgeber mehrerer internationaler Fachzeitschriften und Autor zahlreicher Lehr- und Fachbücher.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Seelig studierte Mechanik an der TU Darmstadt, wo er auch promovierte und habilitierte. Er arbeitete als Wissenschaftler am Fraunhofer-Institut für Werkstoffmechanik, Freiburg, und ist seit 2009 Professor für Mechanik an der Universität Karlsruhe. Sein Arbeitsgebiet ist die Festkörpermechanik mit Schwerpunkten in der Materialmodellierung sowie in der Bruch- und Schädigungsmechanik.
