Born in 1951, Author Dor Slinkard takes the reader on a hilarious analogy of her life during the wild and rebellious 60s and '70s, when life offered a free-spirited and better future to all Australians and hopefully the world.


Life is never short of the needy, and that is where Dor's empathy showed in her acts of kindness.

However, the desire to fuel her imagination brought many childhood adventures, ending with her mother chasing her with a broom. Yelling, "you wait until I catch you. You bugger of a kid!"


Dor's love of horses led her to become a Jillaroo around the Riverina area of NSW. The stories deriving from following her instincts in sometimes dire situations will entertain and surprise even the bravest.


Then later, as a wife, mother, and Horse Trainer, Dor's Aussie humour radiates through every situation.


Becoming an author takes Dor to foreign shores in her writings and physically. Friends play an enormous part in supporting her venture. Be it proofreading, editing, or giving book launches on her behalf. Again the short stories arising from her travels will make you laugh aloud.


This book of memoirs is a delightful journey into the life of one girl who never took no for an answer and lived her life through challenges and seeking the truth in everything.
