Many of the instruments shown in this book cost thousands of dollars retail but can be built for less than $50.00 in parts. The instruments have been proven and published in several electronics magazines. The majority of instruments are physics oriented but also encompasses chemistry and biology. This book is compiled of both published items and other writings of the author. This book comes with a CD which can be downloaded.

Ron Newton was born in 1938 and started electronics at the age of ten when his dad gave him a set of headphones and a crystal set. His first degree was a BS in Chemistry as an analytical chemist. Drafted in 1961 in the U.S. Army Corps he was placed in a medical laboratory without any training. He fell in love with Medical Technology and read everything he could on the subject. Although just a PFC he was put in charge as the NCO (Non Commissioned Officer) of the hospital laboratory over a Sergeant by the Chief of Medicine. Once out of the service, in 1963 he passed his California boards in "Clinical Laboratory Science" and was the director of several clinical laboratories. He worked his way up as a CEO of a small hospital. During that time he also worked also as a Bio-engineer. Offered a position as Director of Engineering at an Aerospace manufacturing plant, he earned another degree in the 1990s in electronics. He moved up as the Director of Research and Development. He consulted for several universities and NASA. He retired as Technical Director at a local Blood Bank in 2001. He has been consulting ever since for the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) under the auspices of the Center of Disease Control (CDC) working in Africa, Caribbean, former Soviet Union and South America, teaching Laboratory techniques and Bio-engineering. He is also a writer for the Publication "Nuts and Volts" holds several patents and has over 130 inventions to his credit. He has donated his time with Global Healing since 1998 as both teacher and bioengineer. He has designed 8 Blood Banks and laboratories in his tenure. The most recent in Mozambique which was $3.5 million in construction. When asked about his education he will tell with "tongue in cheek" he has A PhD in" Experience" continuing with the quote "Experience is the best teacher, however, some things I learned by experience I shouldn't have learned at all".
