But Words Will Never Hurt Me: A Story of Overcoming Abuse is accompanied by a workbook (sold separately) that walks the reader through the various types of abuse so others may find their way to a healthier emotional life.

Del Hungerford is a professional musician and educator in the Pacific Northwest. She teaches at Whitworth University and Washington State University, both in Washington State. Between 1991 and 2009, Del taught elementary music, middle school band, and was a staff accompanist in the public schools. She holds degrees in music from The University of Idaho, Yale University, and The University of Washington. In 2009, Del started a website (www.freefromverbalabuse.net) to gather information about verbal and emotional abuse. She's written articles, includes links, definitions of abuse, and has a blog where she posts updated information. Del offers classes for those working through abuse. Everything is done online, via the Free From Verbal Abuse Forum (www.freefromverbalabuse.com). The forum is a safe and private community where those who are healing from the effects of abuse can come together for discussions, support groups, and various classes.
