As many would attest, it is an unfortunate state of affairs that this attitude toward substitute teachers is not only shared on the part of students, but full-time faculty all the same. As an educator of eighteen years, who has benefited immensely from the valiant service of substitute teachers, I have noticed that these individuals are viewed more as "substitute" than "teacher". This is neither profitable for the sub, nor the student.
