The author and poet has included copies of the original hand written poems from 1998 when she was just a high school senior.

A look into a young female black writers eyes through her own experience and critical observation of the world. Perhaps this book is giving a glimpse of past and presence in one mind of an artist that time is really of the essence and that she was able to foresee her own future struggles as a black woman in America. The book does not hold back on raw emotions and feelings demonstrated throughout her work. The poems break the conventional rules of traditional poetry in this remarkable anthology.
