"Candide: Journal for Architectural Knowledge" is an international, scholarly forum for all architects, planners, engineers, anthropologists, and geographers founded in 2009. "Candide" publishes research on architecture twice a year in German and English, responding to the growing demand for a medium that can foster and engage the culture of knowledge specific to architecture. Each issue contains five sections -- Essay, Analysis, Project, Encounters and Fiction -- challenging authors to approach architecture in multiple ways, observing, critiquing, speculating, narrating. Articles are selected through a double blind peer review. Issue 3 features the following articles: Essay: Andrew J Witt, A Machine Epistemology in Architecture / Project: Ela Kael, Hiltonculuk and the Post-War Architecture of Istanbul / Analysis: Oliver Schetter, Thoughts on the Architecture of Mozambique / Encounters: Amy Kulper, Questioning the Spatial Imaginary of Georges Perec / Fiction: Jimenez Lai, On Types of Seductive Robustness.

Axel Sowa (Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing.) has chaired the Department for Architecture Theory at RWTH Aachen University since 2007. Prior to his appointment, he was editor-in-chief of 'L'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui' in Paris from 2000 to 2007.

Susanne Schindler (Dipl.-Ing.) is an assistant professor at the Department for Architecture Theory at RWTH Aachen University. Previously, she was an editor of 'ARCH+'in Berlin and practiced architecture in Boston.
