Hier ist das Al-tenhilfemanagement gefordert. Um diese Veränderungsprozesse fundiert angehen zu können, bedarf es der Beschäftigung mit einigen theoretischen Grundlagen dieser Prozesse und den Besonderheiten der stationären Altenhilfe. Zur Bewältigung dieser Aufgaben wurde der Ansatz des ?entwicklungsorientierten Managements? (EOM) zugrunde gelegt. Das Konzept ist ein Führungsansatz, um den Herausforderungen für das Management zu begegnen. Im Mittelpunkt dieses Ansatzes steht die Entwicklungsorientierung als Leitidee. Ziel dieses Ansatzes ist die Höherentwicklung des Systems. Sind mit diesem Entwick-lungsmanagement die praxisbezogenen Herausforderungen der Altenhilfeeinrichtungen zu lösen? Zur Konkretisierung dieses Theorie-Praxis-Austausches wurde die Forschungsfrage entwickelt, ?Welche spezifischen Chancen und Risiken sich aus dem entwicklungsorientierten Management für die Herausforderungen der stationären Altenhilfe ableiten lassen Es wurden acht Heimleitungen der stationären Altenhilfe aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet interviewt. Die Ergebnisse der Interviews bestätigten im Wesentlichen die identifizierten Entwicklungsdimen-sionen. Im Mittelpunkt stehen derzeit die Angebotsausweitung und Spezialisierung. In den Einrich-tungen werden für die Veränderungsarbeit die Methoden des Qualitäts- und des Projektmanage-ments eingesetzt. Hier hat sich bereits ein sichtbarer Erfahrungsschatz herausgebildet. Die Verände-rungsprozesse werden von den Leitungen als machbar eingeschätzt. Als problematisch wurde die Überforderung der Beteiligten durch die Veränderungen gesehen. Die vom EOM vorgeschlage
