CHARLIE: Charles Chaplin, The Funniest Man in the World is a light-hearted comic biography of one of the most important cultural figures of the 20th century, suitable for young readers and adults, and lovers of early comedians and film everywhere. Chaplin, and his persona of "The Little Tramp" was a celebrity known around the world. Humorously illustrated by legendary designer and illustrator Seymour Chwast, of Push Pin Studios fame, with text based on Chaplin's own words by Steven Brower, told in the first person, CHARLIE celebrates the life and films of the multi talented actor, writer, director and film score composer. Chaplin's film portfolio is wittily portrayed throughout, reflecting the subject's whimsical approach to filmmaking.
