Yong Ho received his Ph.D. in anthropology and linguistics, with a specialty in Chinese anthropology and language, from Columbia University. He served as the Director of Language at China Institute in New York City and has taught Chinese at various institutions in the U.S. His other books include Beginner's Chinese, Intermediate Chinese, China: An Illustrated History, the Chinese-English Frequency Dictionary, and the Hippocrene Children's Illustrated Chinese Dictionary & Phrasebook, all published by Hippocrene Books.

Ho, Yong: - Yong Ho received his PhD in Anthropology and Linguistics from Columbia University. He served as the Chinese Language Supervisor at the United Nations from 2002 to 2017. Previously he was the Director of Language at China Institute in New York City. He is the author of several books on Chinese (Mandarin) language learning, including Beginner's Chinese with Online Audio, Intermediate Chinese with Audio CD: Second Edition, and Chinese-English Usage Dictionary, also published by Hippocrene Books.
