LCCN: 2009909463 The purpose of the title is to draw attention to the fact that the terrifying things about Jesus are his extreme and radical demands. It is not a terrorism commonly associated with the Islamic form but a spiritual terrorism that causes people to run away psychologically and rationalize as fast as they can in order to avoid the explosive disruption to their way of living and thinking. It is a terrorism that calls for the believer to die to save his enemy rather than die to kill his enemy. It is a terrorism that calls for one to sacrifice himself as Jesus did, for his enemies, for the poor, and for the lost. This is a terrorism of taking up the cross, and so the symbol of this shown on the cover is the figure of Christ on the cross in darkness.... few are willing to see the implications. It will require considerable courage to read this book.

Daniel Keeran lives with his wife Jennie in Victoria, Canada. Born in 1947, he is the youngest of four sons and the father of Phoebe and Seth. A practicing psychotherapist since 1976, he is currently engaged in writing, research, and community development related to homelessness and alienation. He is a graduate of David Lipscomb University (BA, European History), the University of Kentucky (MA, Russian History), and Kent School of Social Work, University of Louisville (MSW, Clinical Social Work). In 1985, he and his wife founded the Counselor Training Institute that expanded to five cities, and in 2005 they began an effort to raise awareness of homelessness through www.homelesspartners.com. He has also written "Effective Counseling Skills: the practical wording of therapeutic statements and processes."
