Civil Engineering and Urban Research collects papers resulting from the conference on Civil, Architecture and Urban Engineering (ICCAUE 2022), Xining, China, 24-26 June 2022. The primary goal is to promote research and developmental activities in civil engineering, architecture and urban research. Moreover, it aims to promote scientific information interchange between scholars from the top universities, business associations, research centers and high-tech enterprises working all around the world.

The conference conducts in-depth exchanges and discussions on relevant topics such as civil engineering and architecture, aiming to provide an academic and technical communication platform for scholars and engineers engaged in scientific research and engineering practice in the field of urban engineering, civil engineering and architecture design. By sharing the research status of scientific research achievements and cutting-edge technologies, it helps scholars and engineers all over the world comprehend the academic development trend and broaden research ideas. So as to strengthen international academic research, academic topics exchange and discussion, and promote the industrialization cooperation of academic achievements.

Prof. Hazem Samih Mohamed (HS Mohamed), Egyptian, focuses on steel structures and offshore structures. He completed his Ph. D. degree at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Afterward, he was selected as a distinguished young Assoc. professor at the School of Civil Engineering Geomatics of Southwest Petroleum University. He had conducted several research works on the Fatigue assessment of offshore platforms, bearing capacity of the corroded offshore platforms, and rehabilitation of the corroded/uncorroded offshore platforms using CFRP laminates. He has published several peer-reviewed scientific papers in well-recognized top journals.

Jinfang Hou, professorial senior engineer, the research area is foundation reinforcement technology. Presided more than 30 national, provincial and ministerial-level research projects, many achievements were incorporated into industry specification, providing guidance for port and waterway engineering design and construction. She participated in the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the Harbin-Dalian Passenger Dedicated Line and the Xinjiang Navigation and Power Hub Project in Jiangxi Province. Participated in writing "Code for Geosynthetics for Waterway Engineering", "Code for Foundation of Port Engineering", "Guidelines for Design and Construction of Geosynthetics for Seepage Prevention and Drainage Protection", and many other industry standards and guidelines.
