Gerade auf Social Media Plattformen trifft man immer wieder darauf. Hierbei geht es oftmals um Lifestyle-, Fitness- und Ernährungs-/Abnahme-Coaching. Man findet viele Bilder mit Texten wie 'Bis zum Tag X erhaltet ihr mit dem Code xxx 20 % Rabatt auf das Coaching von XY'. Oder man wird durch Sprüche mit Lebensweisheiten angeregt, sich mit privaten Themen auseinander zu setzen und sich für das Themenfeld des Coaching zu interessieren oder sogar zu beschlie en, an den angebotenen Vorträgen und Veranstaltungen teilzunehmen. Solche und ähnliche Slogans und Profile von Coaches auf den Social Media Plattformen sollen dazu beitragen, mehr Personen als Klienten zu gewinnen. Doch was steckt eigentlich hinter dem Begriff 'Coaching'? Und ist das, was dort angeboten wird auch professionell? Diese Fragen habe ich zum Anlass genommen, mich in dieser Arbeit mit dem Ursprung von Coaching zu beschäftigen und zu erläutern, was Coaching im klassischen Sinne bedeutet. In einem weiteren Abschnitt werden die verschiedenen Varianten von Coaching unterschieden. Au erdem wird in der Debatte um Coaching als Dienstleistungsangebot immer wieder über die Professionalität des Coaches diskutiert. Diesem möchte ich im weiteren Verlauf dieser Arbeit nachgehen und herausarbeiten, welche Auffassungen es von einem professionellen Coach gibt und ob es überhaupt notwendig ist, diese Art von 'Professionalität' vorweisen zu können. Da Coaching häufig mit anderen Beratungsma nahmen verwechselt wird, soll im letzten Teil ein Überblick und Vergleich mit den verschiedenen Disziplinen geschaffen werden und die Besonderheit von Coaching nochmals verdeutlicht werden.
