Dr. Jill Dumesnil earned her Ph.D. in mathematics from Louisiana State University. After several years of teaching at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she and Dr. Starr met and collaborated on this text, she move to Juneau, Alaska. She has been teaching at University of Alaska Southeast since 2005. She has over 20 years of experience teaching algebra at all levels from beginning to graduate level. Dr. Colin Starr earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Kentucky. After working with Dr. Dumesnil at SFASU and collaborating on this text, he moved to Salem, Oregon. He has been teaching at Willamette University since 2003. He, too, has over 20 years of experience teaching algebra at all levels from beginning to graduate level.
