Dr. Navneet Kaur is a graduate and post graduate in Textiles and Clothing, currently known as Fabric and Apparel Science from Institute of Home Economics under Delhi University. Her post graduation thesis was on Designing of Play Clothes for Nursery Going Girls using cotton lycra knit fabric. She has done her doctorate on Systems Approach to Sustainable Development of Apparel Industry from Delhi University, which was a detailed study on alternative procedures followed for each production and finishing step in the Apparel Industry with respect to labour employeed and its skill level, capital and energy utilized and infrastructure required. She has taught at undergraduate and post graduate levels of Fashion Design and Textile Design courses for six years at various institutes, such as Apeejay Institute of Fashion Design, Institute of Home Economics and Lady Irwin College. She was working as Head of the Fashion Design department for six years at Inter National Institute of Fashion Design, Hauz Khas Enclave, before starting the writing for this book. She has organized a number of graduating fashion shows and exhibitions as head of the fashion design department which was appreciated by the fashion fraternity. She has written a number of articles which have been published in renowned Apparel and Textile journals such as Apparel Views, The Indian Textile Journal and Clothesline. She is also a member of the Board of Examiners of Guru Nanak Dev University and Annamalai University.
