Comedians Telling Tales Out of School features many of the biggest names in comedy, from Bob Hope and George Burns to Joan Rivers and Red Skelton, telling little-known stories about their lives on and offstage. They cover their struggles and dreams, good shows and bad, from their days in the small theaters of vaudeville and burlesque to the bright lights of Hollywood and Broadway. They opened up to author Tommy Moore for his long-running column because he was one of them: a kindred comic and old-school entertainer who experienced the highs and lows of showbiz. Comedians Telling Tales Out of School is often funny, frequently insightful, but always an honest look at the lives and careers of comedy's absolute best performers.

Tommy Moore is an international comedian who has appeared in the United States, England, Germany, Wales, Iceland, The Netherlands, and St. Martin. He's performed at casinos such as Bally's, Caesars, the Claridge, the Golden Nugget, Midway, Playboy, Resorts International, Sands, Tropicana, and Trump Plaza. Aside from colleges, cruise ships, and resort hotels, he's had more than 1,500 comedy club appearances, 150 TV and radio appearances, been a contributor to "Mad" and "Parade" magazines, and written three books and 250 articles on comedy.
