Effort has been made to cover the common Obstetrical and Gynecological conditions encountered in our country while a list of references at the end of each chapter helps in the in-depth knowledge of rarer conditions.Guidelines and recommendations of various professional bodies have helped to a great extent in drawing up protocols for various conditions and situations.

In every chapter, emphasis has been on quick and accurate diagnosis supported by affordable investigations, considering the low resource availability in our country. There are three separate sections in the book, i.e., Obstetrics, Gynecology and Labour. Every effort has been made to further hone the clinical acumen of the readers while they go through the text.

Dr Ujjal K Ghosh is currently the Professor and HOD of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Shubrati Medical College, Meerut. 
He has had nearly 34 years teaching experience in various capacities for undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma students of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 
He also has been the chief guide for 32 theses and is actively involved in the post graduate research projects.  He has around 83 publications as author and co author of reputed journals.
Dr Ghosh is the master trainer for BEOMC (basic emergency obstetric care).
