Previous positions include the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Emory University; Fulbright Fellow at Tel Aviv University; visiting professor at the Norwegian School of Management and the University of Iowa; visiting scientist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and social marketing consultant and trainer for UNICEF in Kazakhstan. His research focuses on the intersection of public information, public health, and public opinion.
