Healey, Deborah: - Deborah Healey is a Professor at UNSW Law and a Director ot the Herbert Smith Freehills China International Business and Economic Law Centre. She is also a member of the Centre for Law, Markets and Regulation. Her research and teaching focus on competition law and policy in Australia, China, Hong Kong and the ASEAN nations and she has written widely in them over a long period of time. She is a regular visitor to those jurisdictions to research and teach. Within the area of competition law, she is particularly interested in the role of government in the market, both in Australia and internationally; merger regulation; competition in banking and finance; and the digital economy. Deborah has undertaken substantial research in the development of the Anti-Monopoly Law of China against the background of its political economy and has written widely alone and with Chinese co-authors and in material translated into Chinese. She has consulted with, and completed research projects for, UNCTAD, OECD and ASEAN, She is a Non-Government Adviser to the International Competition Network and a member of the Law Council of Australia Competition Law Committee. Deborah is also widely published in sports law, is a Life Member of the Australia and New Zealand Sport Law Association, an Co-editor of the Australia and New Zealand Sport Law Journal. She spent many years in commercial practice in Australia with large firms and is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Federal Court of Australia. Deborah is a co-editor of the Competition Law Dictionary, published by Concurrences.
Kovacic, William E.: - Before joining George Washington University Law School in 1999, Professor Kovacic was the George Mason University Foundation Professor at the George Mason University School of Law. From January 2006 to October 2011, he was a member of the Federal Trade Commission and chaired the agency from March 2008 to March 2009. He was the FTC's General Counsel from June 2001 to December 2004. In 2011 he received the FTC's Miles W. Kirkpatrick Award for Lifetime Achievement. From August 2013 to March 2022, Professor Kovacic served as a Non-Executive Director with the United Kingdom's Competition and Markets Authority. From January 2009 to September 2011, he was Vice-Chair for Outreach for the International Competition Network. He has advised many countries and international organizations on antitrust, consumer protection, government contracts, and the design of regulatory institutions. At GW, Professor Kovacic has taught antitrust, contracts, and government contracts. He is co-editor (with Ariel Ezrachi) of the Journal of Antitrust Enforcement. Professor Kovacic graduated with a bachelor's degree from Princeton University in 1974, and received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1978 where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He authored the book "Great Antitrust Enforcers: Lessons from Regulators" and is a co-editor of the Competition Law Dictionary, published by Concurrences.
Whish, Richard: - Richard Whish is Emeritus Professor of Law at King's College London; in 2014 he was appointed QC Honoris Causa. He was a non-executive director of the Office of Fair Trading in the UK from 2003 to 2009, and a non-executive director of the Singaporean Energy Markets Authority from 2005 to 2011. He is the co-author, with David Bailey, of Competition Law, 9th edition 2018 (OUP), and the author of many other books, articles, case-notes and book reviews on various aspects of international competition law and policy. He is a co-editor of the Competition Law Dictionary, published by Concurrences.
