This book, now in its Second Edition, discusses the legal position of Information Technology (IT), e-commerce and business transaction on the cyberspace/Internet under the Information Technology (IT) Act in India.
Divided into five parts, Part I of the text deals with the role of the Internet, e-commerce and e-governance in the free market economy. HARISH CHANDER, PhD, is a former Professor-in-Charge, Law Centre II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. With over three decades of teaching experience, Dr. Chander has published a couple of books on Social Legislation in India and Contract of Employment and Management Prerogatives.|GAGANDEEP KAUR, PhD (Cyber Law and e-Commerce), is with School of Law, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun. With a passion for mentoring students, research, teaching and delivering special lectures in Cyber Law, Information and Communication Technology Law and Copyright Law domains, Dr. Gagandeep has published/presented numerous research papers in national and international journals/conferences. She has authored one book on 'Jurisprudence of e-Commerce and Consumer Protection' and also editor of another book on 'Emerging Dimensions of Cyber Law & IPR: Issues & Challenges in 21st Century'.
