About the Author

Dr. Assuma Beevi T M, PhD(N), MSc(N), Dip. Med. Edn, CHPE, DHM, Cert. HRM, is the Acting Director (MIMS Academy) and Principal, MIMS College of Nursing. With over 34 years of experience starting in the year 1982, when she worked as a Staff Nurse A-Grade at St. Stephen’s Hospital, Tis Hazari, Delhi, she gradually rose to the position of Assistant Dean, Academic Affairs, College of Nursing, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman before holding the current position. Dr. Assuma has numerous publications to her credit and is the recipient of several awards that include Best Citizen Award (2016), Chairman’s Appreciation Award (2015), Mother Teresa Sadbhavana Award (2014), Dr. Radhakrishnan’s Best Teacher Award (2013) and Best Worker Award for Exemplary Work (2005). In addition to being a reviewer of Asia Pacific Journal, she is on the editorial board of several journals including Journal of Nursing Research Society of India, Journal of Society for Community Health Nurses of India and International Journal of Paediatric Nursing. Her diverse experience and constant zeal for empowerment of nurses has led to the development of this textbook that is a ready reckoner for post graduates and practicing nurses. She aims to share her rich knowledge in the subject with the students in order to help them excel in the field of Paediatric Nursing.
