Dans le but de mettre en place une banque de g�nes des plantes m�dicinales � Madagascar, un protocole pilote pour les esp�ces herbac�es a �t� r�alis�e avec Centella asiatica. L''analyse chimique comparative des triterp�nes des accessions �tudi�es a montr� un taux �lev� en triterp�nes totaux de l''accession CA-1 (12,69%). Les accessions sont conserv�es ex situ par croissance ralentie in vitro, et une m�thode de vitropropagation est au point. Un second exemple a �t� d�velopp� avec une esp�ce ligneuse, Syzygium cuminii. Les r�sultats de l''�valuation pharmacologique de graines de cette plante ont montr� une baisse de la glyc�mie >20%. Des m�thodes de multiplication in vitro et de cryoconservation ont �t� achev�es pour sa conservation � long terme. Ces deux applications pilotes ont �t� �largies sur huit autres esp�ces et une banque de g�nes de plantes m�dicinales. Une attention particuli�re a �t� par ailleurs accord�e aux champignons endophytes qui sont en grande partie �limin�s lors du processus de conservation ex situ de leurs plantes h�tes. Les champignons endophytes de Centella asiatica ont �t� isol�s, identifi�s et conserv�s.
