La Constitución de Honduras de 1982 se erige como un documento significativo en la historia política del país, resultado de intensas negociaciones entre líderes políticos y militares. En el marco de esta nueva Carta Magna, Roberto Suazo Córdova, perteneciente al Partido Liberal, fue electo presidente, marcando el inicio de una nueva era en la política hondureña. Su elección simbolizó el retorno a un gobierno civil tras periodos de predominio militar, y el compromiso del país con los principios democráticos y el estado de derecho.

La Constitución comienza con un preámbulo que invoca la protección divina y la inspiración de los próceres de la nación, reflejando una profunda aspiración a la unidad centroamericana y un compromiso con la justicia social, la libertad y la seguridad. Este preámbulo establece claramente los ideales de una sociedad justa y democrática, subrayando la importancia de la realización plena del individuo como ser humano dentro de un marco de justicia y libertad.

La Constitución de Honduras de 1982 representa un cambio en la estructura política del país, y simboliza un compromiso con la democracia, la justicia social y la estabilidad, aspectos esenciales para el desarrollo y progreso de la nación hondureña.
