Au cours des évaluations, les élèves doivent résoudre un ou plusieurs problèmes de génétique à partir de leurs acquis. Malheureusement, les élèves ne réussissent pas cette résolution de problème. En partageant l'hypothèse qui stipule que l'échec généralisé des élèves ne peut ètre imputé seulement ... à des lacunes des élèves, mais que la plus grande responsabilité doit ètre (re)cherchée du côté de la didactique habituelle, nous avons dégagé la part des élèves dans leur échec et surtout la part de l'institution de formation continue des enseignants. Pour trouver les raisons pour lesquelles ils produisent les mèmes textes de savoirs quelque soit le problème posé en génétique, nous avons interrogé un certains nombre de concepts et de cadres théoriques. En évaluant les élèves avec des problèmes bien calibrés nous pouvons les répartir trois catégories: les élèves ayant un mauvais rapport aux savoirs, les applicationnistes et les non applicationnistes. De plus nous avons constaté que le contrat didactique fait obstacle et emprisonne élèves et professeurs.
