Many challenges arise in the practice of management and administration in education in Zambia, principally owing to the fact that the prevailing practices are devoid of a theoretical framework to address the challenges. Management in education borrows its theories from management and administration as a general social science, but with the emerging issues in education there is a call for a book that can be tailored to answering the challenges of the 21St century. On the other hand, the Westerners' perspectives seems to fail to unfold the nature education management since they do not account multifaceted factors that lie in the nature of leadership that is influenced by unstable environments and also intertwine with different school contexts especially the complex bureaucratic systems, cultural issues, and specific contexts of schools in the region.
