What would you do if you weren't afraid? The core premise of Countdown to Courage centers on how we acquire the coping skills essential for navigating life's challenges. Those twists and turns are common to each of us, as are the fears that go with them.
Courage means conjuring up the willpower to do something that frightens us. It means believing how resilient we are when venturing out into unfamiliar territory. It means finding the moral strength to persevere. It means confronting emotional pain, uncertainty, and intimidation-instead of dismissing them. Courage is being true to ourselves by being ourselves unapologetically. Courage is learning to develop resistance to fear.
Stepping out of our comfort zones while we grapple with fear is a difficult challenge, but it all begins by taking that first step. The first step is the hardest.
Countdown to Courage is an engaging and relatable philosophical book of prose and poetry. It explores what it means to live authentically with mindfulness and self- awareness in the moment. Leaving the grievances of the past behind allows us to embrace the future with renewed purpose, perspective, and positivity.
Readers will likely see pieces of their own lives reflected in these poems.
The author has also included a chapter that celebrates aging with a wink and a nod.
Rossol, Dianne: - Dianne Rossol has spent countless hours throughout her lifetime writing poetry. This is her way of journalizing life's events and new discoveries. Her technique is simply stated and the poems in each chapter are backed up by her introductions.Taking a university course in creative writing in the 1990s gave her the self-confidence to pursue writing, particularly poetry, with more conviction and enthusiasm.Dianne was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She and her husband moved to Medicine Hat upon retiring. Aside from her deep love of creating meaningful poetry, she enjoys travel tours by motor coach and photographing wildlife and sunsets. Being grateful every day for the little things in life helps her stay real.As this collection of poetry is her legacy, she hopes that Countdown to Courage will resonate with people who value not only the big life lessons, but also some of the subtler ones. Being able to address fear by developing courage through relentless pursuit is her hope for this philosophical memoir.
