New articles also address Title IX and African American female athletes; athletes with social physique anxiety; muscle dysmorphia and eating disorders; sports hazing in universities and high school; and sexual and physical abuse by teachers, coaches and clergy. The anthology includes an essay from a former NBA player on what Colin Kaepernick started in sports.

Browsh, Jared: - Jared Bahir Browsh is an assistant teaching professor of critical sports studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He earned his Ph.D. in communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Dr. Browsh specializes in issues of representation and opportunity related to the political economics of sports, popular culture, and the media.

Villanueva, Nicholas, Jr.: - Nicholas Villanueva, Jr. is an award-winning author, an associate professor of ethnic studies, and the director of critical sports studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He earned his Ph.D. in history with a concentration in race and ethnicity in 20th century America at Vanderbilt University.
