Motivational Speaker and Philanthropist Sandey Greene is no stranger to heartache and the need to persevere. After suffering several losses in her life, she also endured the heartbreaking reality of losing her hair. As we all know and have heard "hair is your glory" but what happens when you experience such a loss and it's beyond your control? Come along with Sandey as she recounts the story of what happened to her, and how she was able to regain confidence that was once completely lost. Greene, Sandey: - Sandey Greene was born in Newark, New Jersey to Norman and Leola White, but currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama. She the widow of Staff Sergeant (SSGT) Quentin Lee Greene. He served in the United States Army. A beloved Mother of four children Shurekqueria White- Butler, Cor'Darrell White, Lorenza Holmes and the late Ron'Drequez White. A Glam Mom of seven grandchildren: Mariah White, Ron'Drequez White, Orlando Butler, Nevaeh Butler, Priest Holmes, Khiari Holmes, and a bonus granddaughter Te'Erica Battle.She has an extensive Medical background as a Medical Assistant, E.K.G Technician, Phlebotomist, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Billing and Coder. Ms. Greene is one of Alabama Legislative Liaison for Alopecia Awareness through the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. Sandey Greene speaks with Congressmen and or Congresswomen, Senators, Government officials about Alopecia Awareness and getting bills passed for Alopecia.Sandey's faith has led her to become the Founder & President of an Alopecia Awareness Group called DON'T STARE! JUST ASK? #ALOPECIA, which was established on June 11, 2022. With God being a driving force in her life, it has led her to proudly share her story. Ms. Greene participates in a plethora of Civic engagement opportunities in her community, such as, feeding the unhoused and clothing drives. She's an advocate for Mothers Against Drunk & Drugged Drivers, as her 20-year-old Son, Ron'Drequez Cortez White was fatally struck by a drunk and drugged driver on July 23, 2009. Ms. Greene is the Founder & President of an Organization in Remembrance of her Son called Righteousness Overpowers Negativity (R.O.N), established September 05, 2010, named after her son. Drunk and Drugged Driving is a senseless and sad crime to all who are affected by it. The Organization is designed to support and provide a safe place for parents to come together who have suffered the loss of a child or family members due to drunk and drugged drivers. On September 17, 2022, Ms. Greene hosted her first Alopecia Awareness Walk and she has received over 24 Proclamations from the Mayors in her District for bringing awareness about the Auto Immune Disorder; Alopecia. Throughout her remarkable journey, she was given a Role in a Movie, entitled "No More" written by Vivian Murray. In this Movie, it depicts her journey living with Alopecia. She has also branched out into modeling for a handful of organizations. Her ultimate goal is to educate as many people as possible about Alopecia. There's so many stigmas behind what Alopecia is and/or what it looks like. Sandey wants to inform everyone, Alopecia is not a one size fits all! She wants to support people that are conflicted about shaving their heads or whom have already shaved their hair from their crown. She truly wants to provide a support system filled with experience and compassion; while also highlighting everyone's story; because everyone story is different. Ms. Greene is now a Substitute Teacher for Birmingham City School System., and most recently the author of a book chronicling her alopecia journey, titled Crowned. She is the President & Founder of Alpha Zeta Kappa Sorority, Founded on May 20, 2023. The Sorority is for seasoned women, young ladies and children from hair loss or hair difficulties due to Alopecia, Chemotherapy, Perms, Hair Breakage, Medications, Cancer, etc...Whatever your hair journey; Let's come together for each other! Some people join the Sorority just for the Sisterhood & Support and others join because there is a great need to share our experiences to help others "stand strong" and "persevere" together!
