El Dr. Trevor R. Allin nació en Londres y estudió idiomas, filosofía e historia de religión y teología en la Universidad de Leeds, Inglaterra, donde se graduó con la mención "summa cum laude". Posteriormente, realizó estudios de lingüística en el Instituto Lingüístico de Verano y trabajó con Traductores de la Biblia Wycliffe en Perú, obteniendo su doctorado en lingüística por la Universidad de St. Andrews, Escocia. Más adelante, estudió alemán en dos universidades alemanas. Durante muchos años trabajó como profesor de idiomas en España, Escocia, Inglaterra y Alemania, y en la formación continua profesional y en la inspección de los profesores de idiomas. Sus publicaciones incluyen informes para profesores de idiomas, materiales de estudio para estudiantes de idiomas de nivel preuniversitario, y traducciones de libros del español y del alemán al inglés y al español. Ha enseñado griego koiné en España y ha escrito artículos sobre el significado de textos bíblicos y sobre algunas traducciones de la Biblia.
