CyberThreads, is a suspenseful Clancy-like technothriller about white-hot technology, meant to bless the world, but stolen and used by twisted, evil men, to curse the discoverer, his family, and his nation. Dr. Steven E. Noble, a young nuclear physicist, has devised electronic circuits using only sub-atomic particles. He can create powerful computers in the form of invisible, wire-transportable energy pulses. The pulses take over host devices, altering their capabilities and uses exponentially. Elated by his discovery, Noble fails to foresee what it will soon inflict upon the nation and his young family - his beautiful wife most of all. Spanning Europe, the U.S. and Canada, a world-wide hunt for Tricia, Noble's kidnapped wife, is on. The President, FBI, CIA, Anti-Terrorist Strike Force, and Dr. Noble, spar heatedly with each other and US enemies, in pursuit of the tech-nology. Noble's life is menaced repeatedly by both the terrorists and his own government. What the pulses do under evil control, becomes a nation-gripping nightmare of chaos. Through his own brilliance, and pulses planted in government networks, Noble finds his wife. But, can he save her? Only a gut-wrenching night rescue op has a chance. In the end, Noble still has to deal with the remaining pulses, the QMPG in hostile hands, a President and CIA who have betrayed him, his evil antagonist - the man called "Mamba", and what to do with his world-changing technology.
J Craig DeGraff, Author of CyberThreads was born October 18, 1946, the year Eniac, the first digital computer in the world, was invented. While obtaining an Economics degree with a French minor at Brigham Young University, DeGraff took two courses in Computer Science that ultimately determined his career direction for life. During the Viet Nam War, he became a member of the Army Reserves and was named Distinguished Graduate of his Infantry Basic Training class, and Honor Graduate of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Ord, California. Later, he distinguished himself as the Honor Graduate of his Officer Candidate School and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant. During the mid-seventies the young lieutenant served two years active duty in Washington D.C., as an artillery officer, receiving an Army commendation medal for his computer programming work. Utilizing his technology expertise, the author initiated and ran his own software programming and PC peripheral electronics manufacturing firms for 11 years. DeGraff's career culminated in network technical and management positions for two natural gas pipeline companies with facilities in nine western states. He built, maintained, and operated a 42-site satellite communications system controlling one pipeline. Then, he became manager of the telecommunications department for both companies, responsible for 110 microwave radio mountaintop facilities spanning over 5,000 linear miles, with 231,000 miles of network circuits. His department was also responsible for nation-wide e-mail for a larger conglomerate of companies, and all of the telephone, Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and pipeline control telecom-munications for both pipelines. The author has been married to his wife, Patricia for 42 years, and has five children: two daughters, and three sons. He is a private pilot of 29 years, and enjoys basketball, skiing, tennis, swimming, programming, PC and wireless technology of every kind, and of course, writing. CyberThreads is the author's first literary effort.
