He has taught geography, Spanish, and mathematics at the university level. At the community-college level, he taught a variety of mathematics courses. He was Assistant Headmaster of a K-12 Private School. He has served as principal of both High School and Middle School. As a member of MENSA, he was a testing officer in charge of testing prospective members. Dave Barger has taught Spanish, French, Latin, Mathematics, Computer Programming, and Physics at the secondary level. While serving in the United States Navy, he was the Schools Officer of eight Naval Aviation Schools and the Curriculum and Instructions Officer of fifty-six aviation courses. Dave Barger has spent over three decades developing the CyclicMastery instructional program.
