Dabei resultieren die verschiedenen Prozesse in einer oder mehreren Veränderungen in der Artikulation. Zu den Ergebnissen dieser Modifikationsprozesse gehören auch Pidgins und Kreolen. Wann diese entstehen, in welchen Zusammenhängen sie auftreten oder welche Formen sie annehmen, hängt von den individuellen Umständen ab. Dennoch haben alle Pidgins und Kreolen bestimmte Gemeinsamkeiten, die sich über ihr individuelles Zustandekommen hinaus erstrecken. Das Palenquero ist eine im kolumbianischen San Basilio de Palenque gesprochene Kreolsprache, die auf dem Spanischen basiert. Das nahe dem Cartagena de Indias gelegene Dorf, in welchem es gesprochen wird, wurde im 16. bis 17. Jahrhundert von afrikanischen Sklaven gegründet und in der Folge von Einflüssen verschiedener Sprachen, wie Beispielsweise dem Portugiesischen oder Spanischen, ergab sich somit eine Mischform, das Palenquero. Die Ihnen vorliegende schriftliche Abhandlung beschäftigt sich mit den Grammatikalisierungsprozessen im Palenquero.
