Essay aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Interkulturelle Kommunikation, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Dissertation des Autors bearbeitete vor mehr als 10 Jahren die interkulturelle Kommunikation in Bezug auf die Beziehung zwischen dem sogenannten orientalischen arabisch-muslimischen Raum und dem sogenannten okzidentalen europäisch-amerikanischen Raum. Sie konzentrierte sich auf das Bild des Orients in der Wahrnehmung der okzidentalen öffentlichen Meinung durch die Analyse der Massenmedien am Beispiel der österreichischen Printmedien. Es war immer Ambition des Autors, eine ergänzende Arbeit dazu zu schreiben. Diese Arbeit das Bild des Okzidents in der Wahrnehmung der arabischen Öffentlichkeit durch eine Analyse der arabischen Massenmedien. Die Arbeit fängt mit einer Beschreibung der arabischen Kultur an. Sie fährt dann mit der Teilung der arabischen Gesellschaften fort. Dann erklärt sie in einem Überblick die Beziehung zwischen dem arabischen Orient und dem Okzident. Im Rahmen von Konflikt und Dialog zwischen den Kulturen wird die gegenwärtige massenmediale Kommunikationsumwelt im arabischen Raum beobachtet. Die Arbeit nimmt eine Diskursanalyse der arabischen Printmedien vor, um einen Überblick über die Sicht der arabischen öffentlichen Meinung gegenüber dem Okzident zu präsentieren. Als Schlussfolgerung fasst sie die interkulturelle Beziehung zwischen dem Okzident und dem arabischen Orient in einer paradoxen dualistischen Beziehung zusammen. Denn diese Beziehung bewegt sich in gegensätzlichen, miteinander verbundenen, und parallel nebeneinander existierenden Attributen die in unterschiedlichen Konstruktionen wahrgenommen werden. Die Beziehung bewegt sich zwischen Abhängigkeit und Revolution, Optimismus und Pessimismus, Konflikt und Dialog, Machtinteresse und Rache, Fortschritt und Rückständigkeit, These und Anti-These, Feindbild und Klischee, Ethnozentrismus und Kosmopolitismus, tradierter Theokratie und absolutistische Säkularisierun
