Hermann Kaletzky war ein sächsischer Afrika-Forscher, dessen Originaltagebücher mir vor einiger Zeit über polnische Zwischenhändler zugetragen wurden. Sie sollen bei Stadtkernsanierungsarbeiten in Pirna, einer kleinen Stadt nahe Dresden, gefunden worden sein. Die Aufzeichnungen waren lückenhaft, auffallend war dabei jedoch die Erwähnung der Gruppe Adaro, einer medieval-Band die hier im Stuttgarter Raum häufiger zu hören ist. Diese Verbindung fand ich spannend und so habe ich mich von Januar bis September 2000 daran gemacht, die Originaltexte aufzubereiten und nach meinen eigenen Vorstellungen zu ergänzen. Herausgekommen ist dieser Tagebuchroman, in dem ich versucht habe, Märchen, Mythen und Realität zu einem stimmigen Ganzen zu verquicken. Im Jahre 1847, einer Zeit des Aufbruchs, der technischen Neuerungen und gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen, vertraut ein unternehmens- und reiselustiger junger Forscher seine Gedanken und Erlebnisse einem privaten Tagebuch an. Gelegentlich spröde, dann wieder äu erst amüsant und selbstkritisch setzt er sich mit seiner Welt des vorletzten Jahrhunderts auseinander. Als er Anfangs des Jahres auf eine ungewöhnliche Künstlergruppe trifft, ist er begeistert von ihrer Musik, doch da sich das Geheimnis um Adaro fortan wie ein roter Faden durch sein Leben ziehen wird, kann er noch nicht ahnen. Denn je mehr er zum Fan wird, den Musikern folgt und etwas über sie zu erfahren versucht, desto rätselhafter werden sie ihm. Hermann Kaletzky gibt sich alle Mühe, doch ihre unglaubliche Kunst, offenbar die Zeit anhalten zu können, lä t sich mit der ihm eigenen sachlichen Vernunft nicht erklären. So wird der Wunsch, das Unerklärliche ergründen zu können, zu Kaletzkys ganz persönlicher Leidenschaft und die Lösung dieser Denksportaufgabe zu einem Krimi ohne Verbrechen und ohne Täter, der seine Phantasie und Vorstellungskraft gehörig in Anspruch nimmt.
