Es ist die vornehmste Aufgabe der chemisch-technischen Glasindu- strie, Wissenschaft und Technik mit hochwertigen Werkzeugen zu ver- sehen. Dabei gilt der allgemeine wissenschaftliche Grundsatz, daB die Anspruche an diese Gerate nur soweit getrieben werden durfen, als es die Genauigkeit der Methode, fUr die sie bestimmt sind, erfordert. Hohere Anspruche zu stellen, ist Verschwendung, die wir uns heute nicht mehr leisten konnen. Bei MeBgcraten z. B. muBten durchweg zwei Genauig- keitsstufen genormt und es dem Verbraucher uberlassen werden, welche der beiden der Genauigkeit seiner Methode entspricht. Als Beispiel sei die Normung von Weit-und Enghalskolben genannt. Der WeithalsmeB- kolben entspricht etwa der Genauigkeit der Buretten, genugt also fUr titrimetrische Methoden. Der EnghalsmeBkolben ist fur gravimetrische Analysen vorgesehen, fur welche die groBtmogIiche MeBgenauigkeit er- forderlich ist. Die vorliegende Auswahl ist den DIN-Normen und den Preislisten der Firma Greiner & Friedrichs G.m.b.H. Stutzerbach in Thuringen 1935 und 1939 entnommen. Diese Listen sind jetzt die Grundlage fUr La- boratorien des In- und Auslandes geworden, obwohl die Firma selbst in der Ostzone geloscht ist. Da weitaus die meisten im chemischen Laboratorium bonotigten Appa- raturen aus den allgemein bekannten EinheitssohIiffelementen zusam- mengesetzt werden konnen, sollen hier in erster Linie nur die Gerate besprochen werden, die entweder keine SchIiffe besitzen oder als Spezial- gerate anzusprechen sind. Der Rahmen dieses Buches zwingt zu einer Beschrankung auf die gebrauchIiohsten Gerate. 2. Kochgerate Bei Kochgeraten sind die folgenden Gesichtspunkte zu berucksichti- gen: 1. Art und GroBe der chemischen und thermischen Beansp- chung. 2. Form des Gerates.
