Im speziellen wird hierbei der Fokus der Untersuchung auf das politische Handeln als menschliche Tätigkeit gelegt. Zunächst werden im Folgenden die drei Tätigkeiten, welche Arendt den Menschen zuschreibt, genauer betrachtet. Indessen wird eine Differenzierung dieser drei menschlichen Tätigkeiten, also von "Arbeiten", "Herstellen" und "Handeln" vorgenommen. Im Anschluss werden die Prämissen betrachtet, welche für das politische Handeln notwendig sind. Beginnend mit der Bespiegelung der Mortalität und der Natalität und ihrer jeweiligen Bedeutung für das politische Handeln, wird dieser Abschnitt mit einer Klärung des Begriffs der Pluralität bei Arendt geschlossen. Darauffolgend richtet sich der Blick der Betrachtung auf das politische Handeln selbst, welches genauer charakterisiert und dargestellt wird. Bevor jedoch zum Hauptteil übergangen werden kann, ist eine kurze Erläuterung über das Werk, welches dieser Abhandlung zugrunde liegt, also der "Vita activa oder Vom tätigen Leben" opportun. Dieses Elaborat wurde - wie bereits erwähnt - von Hannah Arendt verfasst und beschäftigt sich mit dem Aktivsein während des Lebens. Die Fragestellung bezieht also auf das "Was wir tun, wenn wir tätig sind". Die "Vita activa oder Vom tätigen Leben" segmentiert und erläutert folglich die aufgeschlüsselten Formen des Tätigseins und hat ihre Akzentuierung auf der "Analyse der Arbeit, des Herstellens und des Handelns".
