Sie reicht von "Mittelmacht (Wilfried von Bredow), Regionalmacht (Arnulf Baring), Zentralmacht in Europa (Hans-Peter Schwarz), Führungsmacht (Helga Haftendorn), Weltwirtschaftsmacht Norbert Kloten), Euro - Hegemon (Reinhard Rode), Handelsstaat (Volker Rittberger), Gro macht (Peter Schlotter), Hegemonialmacht (Caroline Thomas / Klaus-Peter Weiner) [...] [bis zu] Weltmacht (Christian Hacke)" . Ziel dieser Hausarbeit soll nicht darin bestehen, zu untersuchen, welches dieser Konzepte am besten zur Erklärung der deutschen Au enpolitik geeignet scheint, sondern es soll die Theorie eines völlig anderen Modells vorgestellt werden: "Das Rollenkonzept der Zivilmacht". Es soll dabei der Frage nachgegangen werden, ob das "Zivilmachtskonzept" als Erklärungsmuster für solche Staaten in Betracht kommt, deren au en- und sicherheitspolitische Orientierungen, trotz ähnlicher Vorraussetzungen in der Struktur des internationalen Systems, stark von anderen Staaten abweicht. "Ferner wird danach gefragt, welche Stärken und Schwächen der rollentheoretische Zugang des Zivilmachtsansatzes (gegenüber anderen Ansätzen) bei der Erklärung der deutschen Au enpolitik aufweist." Hierbei wird zuerst auf die Entwicklung des "Idealtypus Zivilmacht" und seine theoretischen Annahmen eingegangen. Dabei wird auch ein Analysekatalog aufgestellt werden, anhand dessen man untersuchen kann, ob bzw. inwieweit sich ein Staat "Zivilmacht" nennen darf. Anhand dieses Kataloges
