Denn dein ist das Reich und die Kraft und dir Herrlichkeit in Ewigkeit. Amen Kein evangelischer Gottesdienst geht zu Ende, ohne, dass die Gemeinde dieses Gebet gesprochen hat und auch in jeder katholischen Messe findet das Vaterunser seinen Platz - wenn auch die abschlie ende Doxologie entweder ganz weggelassen oder getrennt vom eigentlichen Gebet gesprochen wird. Unverkennbar ist das Gebet, das Jesus seine Jünger lehrte also zu einem der wichtigsten, wenn nicht dem Gebet der christlichen Kirche geworden. Doch was bedeutet dieses Gebet nach zweitausend Jahren für Christen heute? Wissen heutige Christen mit den Worten des Vaterunsers noch etwas anzufangen oder ist es zu einem leeren Gebet geworden, dass nur aus Tradition in der Liturgie der Kirche erhalten geblieben ist? Was meinte Jesus, als er dieses Gebet sein Jünger lehrte und welche Form ist die, die er ihnen sie lehrte? Besonders diese Frage sorgte immer wieder für Kontroversen und brachte die unterschiedlichsten Antworten. Auch diese Proseminararbeit soll sich auf die Spuren des Vaterunser begeben und nach seiner Bedeutung heute und zu Jesu Zeiten fragen. Hierzu soll jede Bitte einzeln auf diese Frage hin untersucht und analysiert werden.
