Dieses Lehrbuch ist eine Einführung in die Datenverarbeitung als Grundlagenfach für Ingenieur- studenten und Ingenieure der Praxis. Darüber hinaus kann das Buch auch als Grundlage für den anwendungsbezogenen Studiengang Ingenieur-Informatik benutzt werden. Nach einer knapp gehaltenen Einführung, in der vorwiegend Begriffe bereitgestellt werden, folgt eine Beschreibung der Hardware in dem Ma e, wie es für diejenigen Ingenieure, die vorwiegend an der Software interessiert sind, erforderlich ist. Schwerpunkt des Buches ist das Programmie- ren im weitesten Sinne. Nach grundlegenden Ausführungen zu den beiden Gebieten Programmiersprachen und Pro- grammieren wird ein Einblick in Maschinen- und Assemblierersprachen gegeben. Im 3. Kapitel werden die drei problemorientierten Sprachen FORTRAN, ALGOL und PLII so weit vorge- tragen, wie es im allgemeinen in einem Programmierkurs geschieht. Die drei Sprachen werden vom Aufbau her ähnlich vorgestellt, zum Teil werden die gleichen Beispiele behandelt, so da derjenige Leser, der sich bisher nur mit einer Sprache befa t hat, einen überblick über den Auf- bau und die Struktur der beiden anderen Sprachen erhält und gleichzeitig in die Lage versetzt wird, diese Sprachen, wenn sie ihm begegnen, hinreichend zu verstehen.
