Die Anwendung der Datenverarbeitung im Gesundheitswesen bildet in die sem Rahmen zusammen mit der Medizintechnik einen wachsenden Schwer punkt unserer Forschungsforderung: Forschung und Technologie im Dienst der Gesundheit. Zur Forderung dieses Schwerpunktes finanziert der Bun desminister fur Forschung und Technologie auBerdem eine Reihe von me dizinisch orientierten Instituten, die in der Gesellschaft fur Strah len- und Umweltforschung - um mit unseren Gastgebern zu beginnen - im Deutschen Krebsforschungszentrum und in anderen GroBforschungseinrich tungen des Bundes angesiedelt sind. Mittel des Bundesministers fur For schung und Technologie flieBen auch uber die Max-Planck-Gesellschaft in die medizinische Grundlagenforschung. Diese ForderungsmaBnahmen sol len letztlich dazu fuhren, die medizinische Versorgung der Bevolkerung zu verbessern."
